Richard Loebelson of In Focus Studios Shoots Atop a Snow “Pressbox”
For over thirty years Richard has worked in video production doing everything from network news, television commercials, to mitzvahs and weddings.
Being based in the nation’s capital, it’s been a privilege to cover U.S. Presidents, Vice Presidents, and other political figures. It’s still a thrill for him to witness first hand the men and women who make history.
Richard states that one of the benefits of our assignments for In Focus Studios is the variety of locations we travel to. They range from a medical convention in Chicago, to a seminar in New York city, to a doctoral thesis presentation at a university in North Carolina. Sometimes we are in a studio filming a yoga instruction video or working in the field with psychics for a reality TV series about the paranormal. I even got to spend time with a hip hop artist for a music video as he went from his limousine to the dressing room then the stage. In Focus Studios works with such a diverse clientele.
“Since we cover a lot of athletic events, shooting in sweltering July heat or a drenching downpour is just another day at the office. It doesn’t happen often here in the mid-Atlantic, but we get an occasional heavy snow storm. After a blizzard a few winters back, I was scheduled to film a game. They had brought in snow plows to clear the field. There was no place to put the snow so they dumped it onto the bleachers. My “pressbox” that day was shooting atop a giant pile of snow.
“The best part of my job is all the interesting people I get to meet along the way.
“I look forward to seeing you through the lens at my next In Focus Studios project!”
